My wife and I recently completed a 7-day “Romantic Mediterranean” cruise on the Viking Sea followed by a 3-night extension to the Tuscany region of Italy. We could not be more impressed and pleased with everything associated with this cruise, the wonderful ship as well as the delightful post-cruise extension to Tuscany. We had a 10-year gap between cruises this time so we spent considerable time and effort researching cruise lines and destinations and reading online reviews before finally deciding on Viking and this 7 day version of the Mediterranean itinerary.

The things that attracted us to Viking for this trip included the “all inclusive” pricing structure where things like specialty restaurants and destination excursions (and many other things!) are included in the cost of the cruise. There’s no seemingly daily churn to add to your cruise bill for photos and food options or drinks, especially if you opt for the Silver Sprits Beverage Package (More on that later). We also liked the smaller ship concept of Viking Ocean cruises. Finally, we appreciated the upscale, adults only nature of the Viking cruises.

Those were the things that attracted us to Viking Ocean Cruises. What we discovered after 10 days with Viking was everything we expected plus a long list of surprises and treats that made this a 5 star vacation and why we will definitely choose Viking for our next cruise vacation.
