Food: MDR was generally good. If you didn't care for your meal you could order something else, in fact the waiters encouraged it. My husband was happy to find lamb on the menu every couple of days. Windjammer Buffet had the same basic foods everyday but also had rotating ethnic food such as Indian, Chinese etc. Hard sometimes to find sitting. We often took our food outside. Promenade restaurant was always open. Lines were long when people returned from excursions.

Entertainment wasn't the big show productions but rather more individual acts such as singers, hypnotists, comedians. Ice shows were spectacular and I liked the way you could attend on days that correlated with your muster station number. That worked out well for us.

Activities. We hung out in the adult pool area. If you don't have kids I strongly recommend you not go on this ship on a school holiday or break. It would drive you nuts. We didn't try the Flowrider but it was fun to watch people surf. We got up early and took outdoor spas and were the only ones. We enjoyed walking down the indoor promenade every day. The library had ships books and a book exchange but was located in the middle so it was noisy and had card and game players downstairs. Lots of bars, you need to explore and find a place where you are comfortable. For us it was the Schooner Bar. We brought a couple bottles of wine with us and bought occasional wine and martinis but be warned Aussies are BIG drinkers. I was impressed with he ships security...they handled problems quickly and quietly.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin Q

We prefer inside cabins because we sleep exceptionally well in them but unfortunately I picked the rate where you can get upgraded so took my chances. I was assigned right away to 6123. The good: tons of storage and closet space and very large bed. The bad. It was hard to squeeze past the sofa and desk to crawl into bed but the biggest problem was the room was above the Star Lounge so basically we sang along with the band until midnight each night...think Mac the Knife. Live and Learn.
