Some good points - nice balcony cabin, very pleasant staff in all areas, good itinerary visiting lots of Caribbean islands, food and service quite good in main restaurant (where we ended up having 3 meals a day) and drinks package worked out well for us - bad points: buffet restaurant - avoided all cruise, it was like an overcrowded bad works canteen, jostling for space, trying to find a table to eat almost cold food. Plenty of space and sun-loungers on deck because so many people got off the ship each day to go on excursions. For some reason loads of big French Caribbean families joined the ship in Martinique and changed the whole dynamics - suddenly ship full of noisy big family groups, teenagers and children monopolising the pool areas etc - fortunately towards the end of our trip. If you take the good bits and ignore the bad bits then this was a good trip.
No problems at all with this cabin - good storage, well maintained and quiet - not far from the lifts/stairs.
Best advice - stay on the ship.
Took private trip to Grande Anse beach - great trip
Best idea is to walk to ferry port and catch a ferry to a local beach.
Booked private Champagne reef trip - excellent.
Dominican Republic is not a place to wander around alone - however Police in evidence on every street corner while ship in port - felt reasonably safe as never out of sight of a police officer as long as you stay in the main areas.
A bit cheap and tacky - you can walk to the breach from the ship or take the ferry.
Either booked own private excursions or just went ashore for a walk around the local area in most ports - not a cheap area for excursions - need to do your homework before you go and look up Tripadvisor reports for ideas.
Took a private trip with Marvellous Marvin - great day out.
Booked Private excursion with Tatem's taxis - highly recommended
Taxi to the beach
