This is the third cruise we have taken on Celebrity Reflection and the first where we had a suite. We sailed on Reflection when she was about a year old, then again in 2016. The Reflection does not show much wear and tear. It still looks relatively new. We usually book Aqua class, but decided to upgrade to Suite 2181 so we could try Luminae instead of Blu. Frankly, I don't think there was a huge difference. The food in Blu was, in my opinion, always quite good and likewise in Lunimae. The dining room in very nice and elegant and the service was superb. The food was good, but certainly not as good as the for fee restaurants. We had great meals in both Tuscan Grill and Lawn Club Grill. The lunch menu in Luminae is always the same, quite limited and only available on sea days. The dinner menu varied every night, but a couple of nights I didn't care for any of the options, so they let you order from the main dining room menu if you wish. We only ate in the buffet once for lunch as I dislike buffets. As usual, the venue is packed at lunch with people literally tripping over you to get food-like they are going to run out!

The shows were about average, some good, some awful. We walked out on the comedian/impersonator as neither of us thought he was entertaining or funny. A couple of the production shows and were fairly good. The Tenors of Rock were great. It was nice having reserved seating for the suite guests.

The Sky Suite was quite a bit larger than a standard balcony stateroom by about 100 square feet. That gives you a much larger bathroom with bathtub/rainfall showerhead and lots of storage. I thought it was awkward getting into and out of the tub as the side is very high. There is a huge amount of storage in the cabin, large TV and upgraded balcony furniture. We never had a butler before and I'm not sure what to think. He really did not do much for us, but then we really didn't ask much of him either. He seemed pleasant enough. Our room attendant was awesome. I think it will hard to go back to the smaller Concierge cabin we booked for an Alaska cruise in August.

Port Reviews

Miami

We stayed in South Beach for a couple of days pre-cruise. We stayed and The Hotel and loved it. However, South Beach dining and drinks have gotten so expensive they are literally pricing people out. $110 for lunch with a couple of drinks? $75 for breakfast? Really?

San Juan

There really is not much to do in old San Juan unless you take an excursion you are really better off just staying on the ship.

St. Maarten

We always like St. Maarten. There a couple of restaurants on the French side that we always go to when there. The Dutch side is clean and the shopping and restaurants are good also.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

The port was better than I recalled. The shopping is not so great. There are lots of vacant shops yet they are building more. We were told they are adding more docks in the near future. We took an private island tour and enjoyed it very much. Beautiful island and you feel very safe.
