NCL has been our favorite cruise line but not so much after this latest cruise. We'll be looking for other cruise lines if NCL only keeps building these bigger ships. We love to share tables for lunch and dinner and when the discussion got around to how many cruises everyone had been on and particularly with NCL, we found many others felt the same way. Long waits for elevators, crowded hallways in public areas and difficulty finding a sun bed.

Also, NCL needs to look at the demographics of the cruise cliental. As children were in school this was a much older crowd. Everyone raved about "Burn the Floor" and the "Cirque" show. But about a third of the audience left "Rock of Ages" which we too got up after the first 20 minutes. It didn't play long on Broadway and it shouldn't be a major show on NCL. We did really enjoy "The Wine Musical" which had some of the performers from the Rock of Ages show and enjoyed them in this production. The other performers were the usual singer, comic, magician, etc. They were okay but we'd actually seen them on the small ships so the Breakaway wasn't bringing on any big entertainent for their bigger ship. One night they also brought on "O What a Night" which we had seen again on a smaller ship. To us this troupe of players were not as talented as our first but that could also be because we knew the show. But as singers they didn't have a good of "head tone" or falsetto that is needed to be Frankie Valli or one of the Four Seasons. Good but not Great.

Last, we had to get a Spa room because NCL is nickol and dimeing passengers again by taking out the steam or sauna in the locker rooms so the only way to enjoy this is to pay for the Spa. Most men I spoke with didn't even want the other Spa facilities but wanted some steam or sauna after a workout. Other cruise lines, not all, still maintain them but NCL keeps removing them so you have to buy a Spa package. Shame on NCL.

Cabin Review

Spa Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M9

The room may have a bigger balcony but the size of the room is smaller. So small that it was very difficult to hang up clothes in the closet since the sofa (which can't be moved) is so close. Also, this room is directly below where people are playing pingpong and the door opening on deck 15 so if people are running and jumping while playing it reverberates in the room which is disturbing. Best thing is that it was close to the elevators and only 1 flight up to the Spa. We wouldn't request this room again.
