I'm My traveling companion and I are loyal RCCL cruisers. We are two middle-aged women who love a week or longer on a winter cruise, escaping from New England winter sans spouses! We tend to like the larger ships, mostly for the variety and caliber of the restaurants and entertainment. Both the Allure and Oasis fulfilled our expectations. Our latest, on the Oasis, traveled to Labedee, Jamaica, and Cozumel, leaving from Port Canaveral. We utilized the transfers from Orlando airport, a smooth and pleasant way to get to and from the ship. As Platinum (now Emerald!) cruisers, we had priority check in which went fairly smoothly but we thought the staff member was a bit inexperienced as he needed to get help from another staff person. After that, boarding the ship was quick and easy and we were able to immediately go to our Jr. Suite stateroom.

First glitch, and this happens every time: I request that the beds be made up as two separate beds when I make my reservation and I always have to ask again on board. The bed is always made up as a single large bed. Why give me the choice if it's not going to be done before I arrive? Silly complaint, but a bit exasperating.

I had bought a beverage package but I didn't get the sticker on my SeaPass card when I checked in, so when I ordered my first drink, the bartender had to go have it taken care of for me. I'm grateful I didn't have to stand in line at Guest Services for that one. I also had gotten the VOOM wifi and had no idea how to access that. The guys at the booth for the wifi service had a stack of cards for people with prepaid packages but it was just by chance that I thought to ask them. I feel accessing things I prepaid for should be seamless.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Starboard side, amidships cabin with plenty of room for two, but would be crowded for four, adults. Large closet, full bath, room to stow luggage, and a comfortable balcony. Seating area furniture (sofa, chair) were a bit shopworn and looked like they needed a good cleaning. Small refrigerator for drinks but not much else. Bed can be made up as a king-size or separated into two twins, with only inches between them. Liked being on the upper deck, closer to pool deck and less crowded elevators.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

About 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport and easy to navigate to get onto the ship.

Labadee

Nice beach areas, plenty of lounge chairs, bring your own towel from the ship and cash for tips, souvenirs.
