Selected the Dawn out of New Orleans as I always wanted to visit New Orleans. Wasn't disappointed. Great city with lots to do. Give yourself at least 3 days to explore New Orleans before the cruise. The Dawn, just recently out of refit, was great. We found the venues and new decorations very attractive. We stayed in an inside cabin which was rather small but we were in our cabin for sleeping only. Received the unlimited alcohol package as a bonus when we booked our cruise which made the cruise excellent value although we all drank more then we normally would have as a result. However, it was great not to think about the cost of drinks. The NCL excursions were rather pricy at the ports of call so we made our own bookings and plans which worked out great at a fraction of the NCL cost. The food in the free dining venues was good except for the Irish Pub which was disappointingly cold when served. Also eat at a number of specialty restaurants on the Dawn, Cagney's steak house was my favourite. I was also happy with the entertainment on the Dawn which was better than I had previously seen on NCL cruises. Overall, I would rate the cruise as very good and a great value with the inclusion of the drink package.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IB

The cabin was very small with little space for sitting around. Person sleeping on right side had difficultly getting in and out of bad due to pull down overhead bunk and corner table. the bathroom was quite spacious however lacked cupboards to store toiletries. The bed was very comfortable.
