We wanted to experience a full transit of the canal and booked this trip with friends. We had a great time and the canal experience was unforgettable in every way. The ship is beautiful and the staff was very good. NCL has some opportunities available to improve on management of large numbers of people (embarkation and tender days were not the best for managing the flow of people). The shows were very good.We enjoyed all of the ports (we book private tours in ports and have always been satisfied with them!). The weather was good but hot. The food in the buffet and the restaurants was very good (the buffet was not always the hottest food but far from cold and very enjoyable). The one small "hiccup" we had with bar service was handled very professionally and we were very satisfied. All-in-all an excellent two weeks. We have always enjoyed our NCL cruises.
We don't spend much time in our cabins except to sleep, shower and dress. This cabin was adequate for those activities. Better lighting would be a great improvement otherwise all was good.
Driver provided us with a tour of the entire city and all of the highlights including a walking tour of the old town. A nice day for us as we had not been to the monastery on previous trips.
We hired a taxi when we arrived and were driven around the city and then to the cliff divers show. It was a nice excursion.
We were recently in Cabo with our family for a week so we tendered to the marina and walked for some exercise. We stopped for a local beer and wifi connections (Mexico wifi is very slow not matter where you connect).
Took the NCL Antigua on your own tour and met up with Carlos carlos@guatemalanguide.com once we arrived. An EXCELLENT tour from start to finish in Antigua. Would definitely recommend our guide to anyone going but definitely would take the NCL bus to and from Antigua as the traffic can be bad and on an NCL excursion the ship always will wait for you to return.
