Celebrity Equinox Cruise Review by Coprolite
- Sail Date: February 2017
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Concierge Class
Embarkation/Debarkation was a breeze. Our room was more than adequate...and Sasa our Room Steward was OUTSTANDING! We tried the main dining room most of the time and found the food/service to be WONDERFUL. We managed to do Murano, Tuscan and Silk Harvest several times as well. All were SPECTACULAR. We tried most of the events/activities...wine tastings, theater shows and comics, lectures in Celebrity Central, glass blowing, the gym, the pools/hot tubs, bars, "silent disco"(what a blast!) and the musicians (especially the Emotions Duo, cute women playing Cello & Violin!). All FANTASTIC!! I still had enough time to relax & read a James Patterson novel.
We did shore excursions in all the ports. Cayman's City & Beach tour was kind of a snoozer and we had the "tender from hell" getting back to the ship. I certainly hope that the Equinox Safety Officer reviews the incident and comes away with some "lessons learned"...'nuff said.
We did the Cochocoban Mayan site and Beach Resort in Costa Maya. Great tour...knowledgeable & articulate guide.
We did the Market & Chocolate tour in Cozumel... really a fun time including the galley tour & on-board meal. Kudos to Omar!
We had a BLAST at Mardi Gras on our own... although we did do the Palm Court Dinner & Jazz tour...which was...so-so at best. I wouldn't recommend that tour to anyone.
But Mardi Gras was truly a unique experience...the highlight of the cruise. The sights, sounds, food, drinks and overall party atmosphere were truly memorable!
We travelled with both friends and relatives which made the trip even more fun.
Of course we always make new friends on our cruises...this one included. The overall service, food and experience on the Equinox was second to none...GREAT JOB!

Culinary TourThe Chocolate & Market tour was really a blast. We're foodies & this was GREAT. I only wish the Equinox sous chef that came along was a little more engaging. He seemed a bit disinterested. Omar made the galley tour fun and the Mexican meal was wonderful! KUDOSView All 92 Culinary Tour Reviews
Island TourA real snoozer. Barbara the tour guide was not articulate or particularly knowledgeable. It was kind of embarrassing.View All 194 Island Tour Reviews
New OrleansThe bus ride was tortuous. The food was "institutional". We could barely see that musicians. The service was barely average. I would not recommend this tour.View All 13,774 New Orleans Cruise Port Reviews
