We Flew into Miami the day before and stayed at a Major hotel chain not to far from the Dock. The Hotel was okay but it was in the middle of "Crack Alley" not what I had expected. I went across the Street to get a burger form Rally's and was approached by 2 homeless  men asking me to buy the a burger, It was kinda scary. We arrived late due to our flight getting delayed in Alanta. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. This was my 2nd Cruise on Rccl and my wifes 4th. I woke up at about 8 am on Sunday the day our cruise started, I opened the room curtains and saw our ship. We left theHotel at 1130 am and took a cab to the Cruise ship Terminal. After giving our baggage to the porter we went into the Terminal i await embarkation. On arrival we were informed that due to Hurricane Ike our port of call in San Juan PR was cancelled. After doing all the boarding stuff we got onboard at approx 1230pm and right up to the Windjammer cafe for some lunch and to buy our soda stamps. I was amazed at the size and the Grandeur of the ship it was just fantastic. At about 130pm we arrived at our Balcony Stateroom and since it was our Honeymoon I had the Ship decorate the stateroom. There was a sign on our door and the RCCL Decorations were fantastic. We relaxed and then went back up topside for departure. After we got into open seas the Captain came on and said we were going to head east for 500 mile to avoid IKe and then head to St Thomas. that night I went up on the top deck and it was really windy it felt like 45 to 50 knots I am a big guy and it almost blew me over. The food service was in the True Rccl tradition but I wasn't impressed with the menu it didn't have as much as a choice as our Last Year Cruise on Vision of the Seas but it was good. Our tablemates were just great and we had alot of fun with them. I really enjoyed the Pizza and the all the other food options. Our Cruise director was fantastic and all of the onboard parties on the Promenade were Fun and full of energy. I really enjoyed the 70's party it reminded me of my teen aged days. The shopping was great and so many things to choose from. The activities onboard we alot of fun for the sexy legs contest to the Belly flop contest in which I won a Silver Medal in it. The Flow Rider was a wild ride and the other pools were just as fun. . The shows were good and the Karaoke was really fun but I wish it would bw linger that 2 hrs a night, Disembarkation was unique in its way we were off the Ship by 830am and at the airport by 930am and waited 5 hrs there until our flight left for home.  I Will Cruise on RCCL Anytime.
