This was our 4th cruise out of New Orleans and our 2nd on the Dawn. Our previous cruise on the Dawn was 2016 just before the refurbishment. That cruise was great.

This cruise was not so great. Embarkation was flawless as my wife and I were the 1st people to check in. We were in a forward penthouse so we were led to Modernos for lunch. After lunch we went to our room. It was okay. I was trying to get an aft penthouse but they were snatched up early last year. We met our butler and room attendant. Our butler was on our previous cruise and he did recognize us. In all he he a good job meeting our needs. The room attendant was super. He was always smiling and greeted us every time he saw us. As to service people I have to say they were all very friendly especially the bar tenders at the Atrium bar.

We ate most of our breakfasts in Mordernos. We did do a lunch in OShees once and it was only fair. We also had a lunch in the Venetian at it was pretty good. We also had a few lunches in the buffet and found them lacking. We had a couple of dinners in MDR and they were just OK. We also ate in Le Bistro, Cagneys and LaCucina. They were all good. One night we decided to eat at the buffet. Last year they would tell you the highlighted food at the dinner buffet in the dailies. They no longer do it so we took our chances. The buffet was area was pretty much empty of people. I found out why when I saw the offerings at the buffet. Poorly prepared Mexican and Indian food were our selections for the evening.
