Having had an aborted cruise in 2015 due a defective engine following a refit, this was our second attempt to see the Norwegian northern lights. The KH is not only a cruise ship but also a ferry calling at many small ports up & down the Norwegian coast.

One of those ports on day 6 was Tromso where, while walking around the town, I slipped on some ice breakingmy ankle (tibia & fibular) and another bone in my leg. I then spent the next 4 days in Tromso hospital but was discharged in time to rejoin the KH on her return leg to Bergen.

Despite being cabin bound (moving around on crutches on a ship is not a good idea) and the passenger services management & crew could not have been more helpful. Thanks go to Jackie, the senior customer relationship officer. Read more
