  • Destination: the Western Caribbean
  • Cabin Type: Ocean View 7

This was a brand new itinerary for Celebrity. We were the first ship of our size to enter the Mississippi and dock at Julia Pier. We had to go thru immigration since we had been in the Caribbean. Because the port authorities and customs people were not fully prepared for all of us, it took us around 5 hours for all the passengers to disembark and then immediately embark right back on the ship. But, Mardi Gras was a good experience.

The ship is a little old and dated. Decor was typical. Service was typical. Occasionally you do encounter a crew member that goes above and beyond his job. Our assistant waiter in the main dining room was awesome. We keep asking him for keylime pie. We were told only in the main dining room at lunchtime. We never could find any, finally on of our last nights he did bring us some.
