We booked the Epic with friends to celebrate a retirement and I must say we did this. We are NCL diehards but the Epic was a fail. Customer service at the Guest Services desk and the Excursion desk was marginal at best. Interest in serving the customer was over powered with "That is not our area, you need to go talk to". Don't get me wrong, the ship was not a total fail. Stateroom Stewad was great as always. Canaveral embarkation rates with a Tampa which is not good.
Dining
The option of free specialty dining has turned the specialty venues into just another dining room. The "Special" piece is gone. It is as loud as the buffet area with large and very LOUD groups with a modified menus from the main dining room.
Cabin was adequate but tight. We had the bed first configuration and then couch which is a waste of space but very doable. Balcony was half the size of the room and amazing as long as you don't mind visablity to the upper decks. New configuration of the shower and toilet configurations, curtain there but semi privacy. All in all, no Cruise stateroom is spacious but is functional.
Very unorganized port.
