My wife and I booked this cruise for our honeymoon, and it was an extraordinary experience. While not without flaws (what in this world is?), this is a cruise I would absolutely take again.
Ship:
The Star Princess is the first cruise ship I ever sailed on, over a decade ago, so it has a special place in my heart. However, the old girl is not as spry as she once was; there were signs of age and wear, minor for the most part, all over the ship. It is my understanding that she is scheduled for refurb in 2017, and hopefully she'll be ship-shape thereafter.
Response from SaraD, Social Team at Princess Cruises
If you've ever cruised before, you know what you're getting in a ship's cabin: cozy luxury. Everything in our cabin was clean and in good order and our steward, Joy, worked tirelessly to ensure that we were taken care of. He truly was a joy.
One thing about this particular cabin location: If you're a light sleeper, this cabin is probably not for you. Being located directly below Horizon Court, there is a small, though perceptible, amount of noise that comes through the ceiling in the early morning hours. Luckily, Kirsten and I are both pretty sound sleepers (especially on the ocean), so it wasn't a problem for us.
