We fulfilled my DW bucket list item by travelling from Miami to Key West the day before and spending an absolutely marvelous day touring Old Key West via Hop On/Off trolleys , tandem parasailing, touring various watering holes, and soaking up the atmosphere of one of America's truly enigmatic and historical outpost.

It certainly heightened the mood of anticipation for our first NCL cruise and the NC line and the Getaway delivered the goods.

Nice ship layout, funneling everything down center of the vessel, a casino to pass through without choking on the haze, shops well designed, MDRs very comfortable(5 stars for the ability to dine, dance, and watch and listen to music and shows in the Atrium dining room aft of the ship).

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

1st time in a aft balcony. Would probably go back to a regular balcony as I was unable to substantiate a significant difference in room satisfaction. Previous reviews indicated that noise level from Deck 16 (Spice H2O late evening parties) could be troublesome, but only noticed significant sound issues 1 night and still managed to drift off to sleep fairly easily.

The view from the back of the ship is spectacular, especially in the early morning. Our room steward, Marjan, did a fine job and was much appreciated. There were some minor issues getting the commode to flush properly, but it was handled properly.

The lemongrass lotion, shower gel, and shampoo were revitalizing and though we overpacked once again, there was plenty to storage space in the room.
