My husband and I have seen advertisements for the new MSC Seaside to debut later this year. Since the Seaside looks really appealing to us, we thought we should give MSC a try by cruising on the Divina. We called our travel agent who told us she had cruised on the Divina about a year ago and that, while she thought the ship is beautiful, the food was not good. We had read a number of Cruise Critic Reviews and had read the same thing.

We drove to Miami from our home in northern Florida. Finding the port was easy via the tunnel off of I-395. Finding Terminal F where the Divina was docked was not so easy. We asked for directions, found our way, dropped off our luggage, parked in the garage opposite Terminal G, and walked to Terminal F. We were onboard within an hour of parking. Yes, the ship is beautiful. Although my personal perference is for lighter, brighter colors, the deep jewel tones and dark colors throughout the ship seemed elegent and calming.

We had lunch the first day in the buffet on Deck 14. During the week, we honestly enjoyed our meals there. The pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, cheeseburgers and prepared submarine sandwiches were delicious and available from late morning to 9:30pm. Pizza is available until 1:00am. We were never up that late. Perhaps we don't have sophisticated palates, but we thought the food in the buffet and main dining room was really good. On the first formal night, my filet mignon from the regular menu was so tender.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

Clean and sophisticated. Small television, but we didn't watch too much. Appreciated the sleep timer. Refrigerator was nice and cold. It was the best we've had on any ship. Appreciated that the balcony glass was cleaner than on other ships.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We took a group taxi to Marigot to walk around and each lunch.

San Juan

We always love walking around Old San Juan and we took the ferry to Catano to walk the malacon there.

Nassau

We took the water taxi round trip to Paradise Island. We usually walk back to get some exercise. We should have this time as well because we had to wait over thirty minutes for the return water taxi. I enjoyed an hour of slot machines at Atlantis.
