Bed bugs and poor administrative staff

I would love to wright a great review because their was some really good points, however Carnivals poor customer support to the issue my son and I had was very bad so BAD REVIEW!! First if you travel you can come in contact with these nasty critters. I make a practice to check the bed and furniture and quarantine all travel items when going home or to friends.

I did check the mattress and no obvious problems however without bed bug covers you can not be assured!! When we came back in the evening their was small blood fairly fresh splats on the bedding. I checked the mattress not inside the sheets!!! The main person who managed the cabins was excellent and brought someone to check and changed the bedding. I was told the results of their check was negative and I did not see anything?? I noted in two days I had three bites and my son one (bits are three in a row and can look like mosquito bites). As I mentioned this to staff, I waited to have a friend at home who can identify the difference check when we came back before making a formal report to the Carnival. Yes, sure enough bed bug bites. I am glad spent a lot of time ensuring my items were quarantined and treated (25 min in a super hot dryer works and suitcase enclosed in a sealed non torn bag). No concerns at my friends or my home at this time (bed bug cups for under the post of your bed is the best that I have heard of to monitor if the pests hang onto you when you come home!!) Now bed bugs are a reality of travel or even sitting on a bus or movie, however how Carnival handled my complaint was not!!! I was told when I called the customer support line that no follow up call regarding my concerns would occur and this was stated twice!! so no miscommunication. Carnival bad form!!

Carnival administrative staff that manages reservations and tabs is also concerning, mainly one who could not read the bill and kept making false statements of what I owed and then after upsetting me would rudely correct her mistake!! We had one on the final night who was satisfactory...

Getting on the boat with the front desk staff was terrible. They had us running different places with our luggage and the one girl I kept getting was so rude and had no idea how to read a bill (she may just have been trying to be a .... and upset us)

We stayed on the boat and loved it. Everyone who went a shore reported it was excellent and so beautiful. The bike ride around the area sounded the best to me!!
