The Oasis of the Seas offers a huge variety of activities and shows for families to enjoy. The ship is beautiful and huge - it's like a floating mall at sea. The staff is what truly makes this cruise special. We ate in the Grande Dining Hall during the 5:30pm dinner service and Winston was our waiter and Sergei was our assistant waiter. Both delivered stellar service and always made us feel welcome and special. Lucien was the head waiter and came by to make sure all of our needs were met. Donna Roberts was our room steward, and she was very fun and our room was always clean. You can tell that Royal Caribbean takes time to train their staff to truly care about guests. We didn't have one bad experience with a staff member! The Aqua Theatre show and all of the other shows the ship offers are fantastic. The only suggestions we have for this ship are to offer more late night buffets or restaurants. Other than room service, only 1 pizza place stays open until 3am, and only 1 restaurant is 24 hours with cold food only. Other cruise lines offer many more nighttime options and midnight buffets. (But you can always order room service 24 hours a day with a slight charge after midnight.) We highly recommend getting the VOOM internet package so you can stay connected with your friends and family and share/post cruise pics during the trip. It was fun to FaceTime our family and show them the ship! We also recommend getting the drink package if you enjoy drinks and coffees/smoothies. This was well worth it and you could have just about whatever you wanted whenever you wanted it.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom

Cabin CV

Great cabin and larger than other cruise lines. This room had the 2 beds you could put together to make a big one (at least a queen size but could be a king), and the sofa that pulls down to make a large bed. Note - the sofa bed is not the traditional sofa bed, so you definitely need an extra soft mattress topper to put over it. These "sofa beds" pull out the base where you sit and then you fold over the back of the sofa so you're sleeping on the back part that faces the wall. It's super hard and not easy to sleep on. Fortunately our room steward got us the mattress topper, which made it very soft and easy to get a great night's sleep on for the rest of the cruise. This particular room overlooked Central Park, which is so relaxing and pretty, and we had a big bay window in the room which was a great place to sit or store additional luggage. The bathroom is also larger in this room than other cruise lines.

Port Reviews

San Juan

This port is really crowded. We just walked around to take pictures and shop, but I'd recommend doing a planned excursion if you really want to see San Juan. There's only so much you can walk and see without taking a cab or a planned tour.

St. Maarten

We had a blast in St. Maarten! We ate at the Greenhouse Restaurant, which had great food and service. We also shopped and found all kinds of deals for souvenirs. There's one little shop called Shalom Enterprises on a side cobblestone street, and the owner, Rachel Singh, is so nice and has lots to offer. We also went to Urban Connect Clothing and Tattoo in Philipsburg. Carlos Munez is the tattoo artist there, and he gave my dad his first tattoo! (My dad is almost 70 years old.) It was clean, safe and Carlos did a fantastic job. So if you're looking for adventure and want a tattoo, definitely check him out. The beaches are also breathtaking in St. Maarten too, some of the best in the world in my opinion.
