This was our first cruise. We are accustomed to high end all inclusive vacations. This cruise we found catered to large families and party type travelers. The dress restrictions were not upheld. The overall feel of the cruise was very casual, less sophisticated and geared to those who want large quantities of fair food and drinks. The pool area was horrible and overcrowded, noisy with multitudes of loud people and children. The gym was fair, certainly not busy, they need new rowing machines. The lounge entertainment was very good but repetitive. The evening shows were good and the theatre was very nice. The room steward was very good. Service in the restaurants was good. Bar service was poor and slow. The extra charge restaurants were not much better than the dining room so not worth the extra fees in our opinion.

We were charged for every little thing. Even when events were offered such as wine tasting or tours of the ship they had additional charges. We felt we were constantly being asked for money every time we did anything. We had issues with double charges on our mini bar bill which we gave up trying to resolve and paid the extra costs.

We booked three excursions and two were very disappointing and over priced. The one tour of New York City was excellent. We are saddened that our first cruise was a disappointment. We have learned since that we should have chosen celebrity or Viking for the quality we wanted. Or perhaps we had bad luck. Other travelers on the ship were enjoying themselves especially the teenagers and families.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

The cabin was fine. Comfortable and quiet except when there was loud noise from neighboring balconies. There were loud crying children next door. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Near the front of the ship so was a bit rocky for a few days. Near elevator and convenient location.
