We chose the cruise based on price and time. I was bowled over! My expectations weren't high, but the cruise line was even better than the other two ocean cruise lines I've taken. It was as good or better as Viking, which is a premier river cruise line using smaller ships. The cabin was more spacious than I expected. The dining was excellent. There was a great variety of wonderful dishes and portions were good. Staff provided friendly and prompt service. Embarkation and disembarkation were organized and smooth. Shore excursions were well planned and enjoyable. I enjoyed the entertainment available in the afternoons and evenings. The ship was arranged so that nothing was crowded and it was easy to find cozy places to relax. Everything was very clean. There were plenty of high quality activities and entertainment.

I will definitely try Carnival Cruises again.

My sisters had trouble with wi-fi accessibility, but that was the only negative.

Cabin 6A

Three of us stayed in a surprisingly large cabin, with plenty of room and a nice bathroom. Everything was clean and kept that way by staff.

Catalina Island (California)

Not a lot to see in Avalon except shopping.
