I picked this cruise for myself and 17 year old son as a quick getaway. The price was right, and the Port of Tampa is only about a three and half hour drive from home. We just returned home today (2/27). I read a lot of negative experiences from others, but I have to say that we both had a GREAT time. All of the staff that I encountered were very friendly, and were working extremely hard. Our room steward on 6 Upper was Joseph, and he did an outstanding job keeping our cabin clean!!! Joseph always had a smile, and would greet us by name every time he saw us!!! The cabin was fine for two guys...we do not need anything fancy. The only issue we had was getting the water temperature right. You would think you had the right balance, but the next thing you know it was WAY to hot or to cold. I finally just kept my hand on the cold water to turn on more or turn down. Hard way to get a shower, but we managed!!!
We did not eat any of our meals in the dining room, but never managed to miss a meal on the Lido deck. Except for the roast beef I had on Saturday night, all of the food was good. All of the dining staff worked hard to keep tables clean, and they were also very friendly!!! I spent most of my time at the Lido bar or casino bar. When it got very busy, you would have to wait for a drink, but I did not think it was that long. The bartenders were very nice, and they made me some great drinks. Around 10:00 pm at the casino bar, the band Last Call started playing. They had every one singing and dancing every night!!!! I really enjoyed listening to all of the great songs!!! If they are playing when you are on a cruise, you have to stop by to hear them!!! Finally, I met some great people on the cruise!! I did not have any issues with fellow cruisers. I will definitely pick this cruise again!!!
