This was the first time ever and the last time I will ever travel NCL. Fro the minute we got on the ship till we got off the ship - we were nickle and dime for everything. - I have been on over 20 cruises from RCCL to Carnival but have never experience this before. You pay extra to go to get specialty dinning and then you pay even more or pay surcharges on top of that for certain menu items...What???....You pay surcharges for entertainment shows..What???....You pay surcharges for room service..What the heck???....You pay extra to enjoy a spa like a indoor hot tub...What is up with this???....So, many things I notice and will never happen to me again....So, if your thinking NCL - Don't do it!!! - Avoid all there ships like the plague especially EPIC unless you want to pay for something that should be included with the orginal ticket passage price. :-(
Also, There were no excursions for the handicap in St. Thomas, Tortula or Great stirrup cay and if there was - when we checked with the excursion desk on our sailing - they indicated that it was sold out or not available because the vehicles that were contracted by the cruise excursion desk where not handicap equipped.
That's just poor planing and discriminating against the elderly and the disabled. We were told to just stay on the ship and enjoy the amenties that were provided without NCL Surcharges.
We had an a handicap accessible cabin because my mom is wheelchair bound, don't get me wrong our cabin steward who's name was Donovan was very attentive, kind and eager to please. He was very Honest as well. - but, it see like the rest of our cruise had a damper upon it with the rest of the crew besides him. - I will say that this was our first and last NCL Voyage. I think we will stick with Celebrity or Costa for our next sailing.
