Sail Date: Jan 2017
Cabin: Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

This was our longest cruise to date with excellent port stops including three new to us - St. Kitts, Antigua, and Barbados. It was also our first mega-ship. Absolutely loved the stateroom design; organization and design are a huge step up from Jewel Class ships. Overall we loved the private space on the Breakaway but not so much the public spaces. They felt small and disconnected from the ocean. It seemed to me that they want you to keep moving every half hour rather than settling in any one place for very long. And, yes, there is a smoke issue permeating throughout the core atrium areas due to casino design. Outside spaces were nice with Spice and the ropes course being the highlights for us. Dining was on par with other NCL cruises; you will not go hungry. The standout was Ocean Blue. Fantastic service and food there. The dover sole entree was outstanding. Favorite bar ended up being Shakers. We would meet up there everyday with our new found cruise friends for great drinks and better company. Irma was a top notch bartender! Our top entertainment choice was Fat Cats. Good music with Les Getrex and band. Crew was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We did one NCL offered shore excursion, Escape to Jost van Dyke, while in Tortola. It was worth every single penny and then some. Overall, it was a good cruise. How can it not be? You're on a cruise vacation after all. Was it our favorite? No, but it did help us decide that maybe the mega-ships aren't for us. Would we go again? Never say never but we would choose smaller ships if itinerary and all else were equal.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Amazing stateroom. Balcony had two lounge chairs plus two regular chairs and a small side table. Great amount of storage options made living easy for two weeks in this cabin.

It's NYC. Close to home and easy to get to.

Neve miss picking up some vanilla while in San Juan.

Ended up taking a taxi to Coki Beach. Good snorkeling from the beach.
