Our experience on the Koningsdam was so pleasant. There was hardly anything we did not like. Our cabin, though inside, was well designed and with lots of storage space. We choose Anytime Dining. Arriving at 6 each evening we did not have to wait. At times we did choose to share a table with others. Meals were served quickly and efficiently. The menu varied each night and in addition, steak, salmon and chicken were always on the menu. The nightly entertainment was most enjoyable and after the show there are three more venues to visit..Billboard Piano..BB Kings or a classical music group. There are also nightly movies at the pool area. We loved the snacks at the New York Deli and Pizza. Don't miss the daily tea. If one goes to a tea dance you will get a three tiered tea server and music and dancing too.
We enjoyed all the ports except the private island. We did not care for the Caribbean food nor the distance one had to walk to get to it. The Turks and Cacaos stop were excellent. All beach facilities are free...chairs, umbrellas etc and are right where one docks. Close by is a large resort style pool with free chairs and concessions to buy things. In Puerto Rico a short distance from the pier is a free trolley which takes one up to El Morro and back. One can even get off the trolley and wander the old city of San Juan.
BTW we have cruised on most of the major cruise lines and found this ship most enjoyable. A pleasant surprise was that the passengers were all ages .We would definitely sail on the Koningsdam again.
We waited quite a long time to board the ship .
Loved this stop. Beach with free umbrellas and chairs right by the ship..Lovely pool too.
Ship docks close to Old Town and a free trolley that gets you around the city
Ship docks a distance from the city. City is all Jewelry stores. Take an excursion to a beach.
Did not care for the island and the food that was served there.
