Trip was our third cruise, all on RCI. Overall, was a great cruise. My wife and I had sailed the Western Caribbean on the Oasis in Feb 2015, loved the ship, and wanted to do the Eastern, so booked the Harmony. Almost changed ships prior to sailing because of the many negative reviews we read about the food, service and other shortcomings. Stayed with our reservation and was happy we did. The Harmony was on par with the Oasis, with several minor exceptions. Main plus for the Harmony was our oceanside balcony stateroom layout (12600), which we liked much better than the oceanside balcony layout on the Oasis. We thought the Harmony felt a bit more crowded, especially on the promenade, but not objectionably so. Contrary to some reviews we read, the staff was superb. Our stateroom steward was excellent, and every staff member we met on board, whether in a dining area or just in passing, was polite, courteous and helpful.

Embarkation and disembarkation were remarkably smooth and uneventful. We had successfully used the express disembarkation twice previously, but were not in a hurry this time, and wanted to try the standard exit procedures. Line was a bit long but moved along nicely.

We did not opt for any specialty restaurants and I am glad we did not spend the extra money. We ate most of our dinners in the main dining room area with "my-time dining," and never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. With the exception of the prime rib I had the first night, which came overcooked, dry, and bland, every other meal my wife or I had was exceptional. We ate at the Solarium Bistro twice and it was fine. We ate most breakfasts at the American Icon dining room, and most lunches at the Park Cafe...roast beef there is outstanding. We avoided the Windjammer because we thought the food would be less quality than the main dining room, but had to eat there twice in order to make a showtime, and were impressed by the quality of the food there, too!

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Large Balcony

Cabin D1

Paid a little bit more for the extra square footage on the balcony...was nice, but will probably settle for a regular balcony next time and save the money. Liked the stateroom floor plan better than the Oasis, because we had more storage space and two separate closets separated by a couch, so my wife had her area and I had mine.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Easy access and parking...smooth boarding and disembarking.

Nassau

Short time ashore, but perfectly timed to allow us to attend Mass in town.

Enjoyed walking the downtown area.
