We arrived at Bush Intercontinental on 2/11 and stayed at the La Quinta Inn South. Price was right and the shuttle picked us up and took us back to the airport to catch the transfer to the pier. All worked fine. Carnival now has assigned check in times and embarkation went very smoothly. Cabin - number 8208, forward balcony. Room was fine with no issues. Room stewards are now asking if you want the cabin cleaned once or twice a day. First time I have heard this but once in the morning worked fine for us. We saw Hendrawan daily and he was a very nice guy. Dining - We were assigned to Blush dining room at the rear of the ship and there is a little too much motion for my wife and we requested to be moved to the Sapphire MDR midship. Maitre d took care of us and we were moved. Dining overall was pretty good. Lido Marketplace could not produce eggs benedict that didn't have a solid yolk. Seaday Brunch in the Blush dining room was not much better. However, get the steak and eggs and you will not be disappointed. Breakfast Burritos at Blue Iguana were very good too. Guy's Burger Bar, Cucina and Tandoor were very good for lunch. Cucina for Valentine's day dinner was a great choice. Isabel was our waitress in the MDR and she was certainly in charge of her crew. Very friendly but they could never remember what anybody wanted to drink at dinner. Excursions - Roatan, Maya Key private island. Snorkeling was the best of this cruise. Pier to the reef made it pretty easy. Lunch was good, beach was nice with lots of chairs and shade and there is a little zoo to see. Easy to recommend this excursion. Belize - Snorkeling Wonders of the Barrier Reef, the boat picked us up at the ship and we never did go to the port. Beautiful little island but the snorkeling was in groups, beginner, intermediate and advanced. Was as bad as boat snorkeling with bunches of people bumping into you, kicking you and swimming over you. Not that many fish either. No fresh water showers and only burgers or hot dogs for sale. Cozumel - Mayan Ball Game. Mixed review. Ball game, Mayan dancing and drumming were great. Tastings and mayan culture were not so so. Lunch was good and there was tequila tasting too. Artisan tequila was a little to pricey and I don't think anybody in our group bought anything. There was supposed to be time for a beach that did not work out. Entertainment - comedy shows were the highlight especially Diane Ford. Standing room only for her shows. Main showroom shows were also very good. Piano bar was a disappointment. Tony was a good singer but after 6 Carnival cruises, I have never seen less singing at the piano bar. Cruise was not perfect but that is not my expectation with Carnival. Very good is still very good.

Nice ship, had a great time!

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin 8C 8208
Picked deck 8 as I look for a cabin with a deck of cabins above and below. Didn't hear deck chairs being moved around and no noise from the Promenade deck. The bridge extension was about 25 feet from our balcony so we could see the Captain and other bridge personnel when we were docking or leaving port. Small refrigerators don't really get cold.
