Having done 9 previous cruises, mostly on Princess we wanted to try Royal Caribbean to judge the differences. So with a new ship Ovation of the seas arriving it was the ideal opportunity.
We did the online check in, arrived at the time allocated 1pm and passed a long queue of passengers. From street to cabin in 17 minutes and on disembarkation we chose to carry our own suitcase. We headed for the appropriate lounge at the correct time but when we got out of the lift we were guided to the gangway, off instantly.
The ship was sparkling throughout and perfectly designed, technology plus, We had a window cabin which was the best we have ever had, only downside was some bass noise coming from Bolero's at 11pm on 2 nights. The decor in all free restaurants was A1 as was the waiters service. The main courses unfortunately went from great one night to very ordinary the next. Carrot and broccoli almost raw and red meats very undercooked, I ended up asking for Very Well Done and it was still bleeding. Desserts were great. Wonderland was a fabulous experience but did not try the other pay restaurants.
Window great. Plenty of clothes hanging space, Bed large and comfortable, Shower large. 2 seater lounge Good size tv, fridge, kettle. Nicest cabin we have ever had.
Get the train to Circular Quay. Perfect
Lovely city and quiet. Pack a jumper
