As most have heard the Star had some technical issues on its voyage to Australia on Feb 6, 2017, its AZiPod system had a major failure and the ship was stranded at sea. Well I am here to tell you, that even though this happened the trip was still amazing. Yes we missed the ports that we were supposed to go to, but NCL did everything right. They refunded 100% of the cruise fare and port charges and gave us a $500 on board credit as well as 50% off another cruise. In my case they also upgraded my husband and I to a suite due to an interview that he did on live TV when we docked back in Melbourne. It was nothing but positive and this was his first cruise.

The crew went out of their way to make sure that everyone had a good time despite the issues. The shows were amazing, the food great and the weather wasn't bad either. It could have been a lot worse. Yes there were people that were upset and some even got off the ship in Melbourne and chose to fly home, which NCL assisted with. But for the most part people stayed and made the most of it.

All in all a great trip. I have already booked 2 more on NCL....
