Friends that have cruised previously picked this cruise and invited us. There were 13 of us total, age range 10-60. Had a good time, even with few hiccups along the way. Our cabin steward showed up first day and introduced himself. After that he was nonexistent. Spoke with others in our group and found out they saw there cabin stewards every day, multiple times. We definitely did not get same treatment all others in our group were getting. Husband ordered a surprise decorating of our room and bottle of wine for my bday. This was all set to happen morning of bday during room cleaning. By late afternoon husband was very frustrated. He finally told me about it. We went to guest services to find out why it never happened and see about getting money back. The guy at guest services was fairly ruin and told us to have a seat while he made a phone call. While we waited he disappeared. When he finally came back, after waiting 20 minutes, we went to ask him what the plan was. He informed us it had already been delivered. We explained to him again that we wanted our money back and no decorations as the surprise was ruined, and decorating the room at 5pm was a moot point as we would not be in room rest of evening. He rudely said there was nothing he could do. As we walked back to our room we saw our room steward leaving our room. He quickly disappeared around corner as we came down hall. Our room had been decorated, but was still disappointing that it took my husband telling me and complaining to make it happen. We had also tried calling our room steward multiple times, who never answered his phone, earlier in day. We all did the sit down dinner every night. For the most part it was good. Food is ok, nothing spectacular. Our head waiter was severely lacking. His two helpers were great. Had to ask head waiter multiple times for items. The assistant waiter should have been head waiter. He had a great personality, was very attentive, and on top of things. We would do another cruise, but if on Carnival will try a newer ship.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6C

Cabin was fine for the two of us. Drawers were not very clean. Not much attention to cleaning. Someone else's hair left in drawers and obvious furniture had not been moved to vacuum. There is only one outlet in room for plugging things in. Makes it a little hard to charge devises and plug in other items.

Port Reviews

Miami

Boarded boat. Simple and easy process.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Great day!! 8 of us chose to spend day together exploring on our own. Walked out and caught a cab to nearby town. You rent your own private cab for the entire time. They are your own personal tour guide. He asked us what we wanted to see, and gave us a great tour. Took us to an amazing beach were we spent the afternoon relaxing and playing in ocean. It was wonderful!

San Juan

Group of 13 of us wandered around old town and both forts. Had a great afternoon enjoying local bars, history, and some shopping.
