  3. Norwegian Epic
We chose this cruise because of the convenience of Port Canaveral and the ports of call. The Epic, while not the most beautiful ship, offered lots of dining and entertainment options. I think it is better suited for couples. The best advice we were given before the cruise was to book shore excursions, dining and entertainment early. We had no problem on board because we planned ahead. Those who did not make prior reservations were disappointed. Most of the entertainment was not really child friendly in my opinion. They did offer family themed movies and family dance parties on certain nights. The biggest drawback of the ship to me is the lack of areas to view the ocean. There were not many quiet relaxing spots in the public areas. The staterooms were nice with adequate storage. The open bathroom layout was not a problem for us a a couple; however it probably would be for families. We found the dining to be very good. The food in the specialty restaurants was especially delicious. I don't really understand all of the bad reviews involving the staff. Overall they were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Our cabin steward was one of the most friendly and attentive we have ever encountered. He definitely made our experience so much more personal and enjoyable! The dining staff was also quite friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and options for food allergies. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We loved our ports of call and our ship days as well. Even on nights that we did not book shows, there was enjoyable live music all over the ship. We would certainly cruise with Norwegian again.

Cabin Review

Inside
Cabin IE
Our cabin was small, but well appointed. Storage was surprisingly adequate. We did not mind the bathroom layout and actually found it quite convenient. There should be better lighting in the sink area. It was too dark. Next time we will choose a balcony cabin as it offered more seating options and natural lighting.

  • Great Stirrup Cay
Great Stirrup Cay was beautiful and we loved the beaches and walking trails. The buffet was nice, we loved Abaco Taco. The fish tacos were quite good. We found plenty of seating and even some shaded area. The beaches were a little on the rocky side for my taste, but still nice.

  • Island Tour
We visited on Valentine's Day and chose a combination shopping, island tour and beach break excursion with Sunny Liston. It was wonderful and we would definitely use them again. The staff was cheerful and knowledgeable. They accommodated our every need. As it was a holiday, they had a large number of people to manage. This brought some unique challenges that Sunny handled with ease. The tour stops were breathtaking and interesting.

  • Tortola
We found the boat portion of the trip much more enjoyable. The land tour was average, but nothing great. Sopher's Hole marina was charming, we enjoyed strolling about there. The sea portion was so much fun. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area's history. He kept us engaged and entertained the entire time. We had beautiful views of Treasure Island, Dead Man's Chest, Tortola etc...
