Having sailed to Alaska 4 years ago with Princess Cruises we felt reasonably confident booking with them again for an 11-day trip from Singapore around SE Asia on Voyage M706, departing 8th February onboard the Diamond Princess.
Embarkation and disembarkation arrangements in Singapore were clear and efficient, just as one would expect in that country, although it was annoying that the last of our suitcases cases didn't arrive in our cabin until almost 5 hours after we boarded. Sadly, on subsequent days the arrangements were not so good for shore excursions where our "Priority Tender" tickets only applied at one port of call due to a late change in itinerary, and only one way, meaning we had to queue in line to return to ship (it wouldn't take much to offer a separate queue for suite & premium passengers).
Suite (C757) was at the rear of the ship, spacious, clean and comfortable, albeit slightly dated. It had a decent size balcony that had two steamer style loungers and a wooden table with 4 chairs. Our cabin steward was clearly very experienced at his job, unobtrusive, yet friendly and efficient, although he wasn't dedicated only to our cabin as the website suggests (so it's not valet service). The in-suite mini bar contained 8 miniature spirits, a couple of beers and a few soft drinks on arrival, plus a complimentary bottle of champagne. Bottled water was charged extra throughout the trip at $4.50 for 1.5L (the alternative drinking water being heavily chlorinated, either from the tap, or fetch it yourself from the buffet).
