This cruise had three parts for me, the beginning, the middle and the end. Luckily the middle, the cruise was great. The food was excellent, staff were welcoming and seemed happy with guests and co workers, ship was beautiful and everything aboard was wonderful. The beginning and ending at the port was quite another story. Getting on the ship and off was horrendous. We left our hotel, which was within sight of the ship at noon and finally after being backed up in traffic and standing in the sun at the port for over three hours, got on board at 3:30. We were exhausted. Same thing as we disembarked, we left the ship in a timely manner, around 9:30 and stood in line to go thru customs for nearly two hours. After finally making it thru the slowest customs lines imaginable, due to the terrible traffic jams we waited another hour for our ride back to the parking lot to our car. We loved the Epic but would never cruise on another ship from Port Canaveral.
Cabin size seemed about average for a balcony cabin. The balcony it's self was slightly larger than we've had on other ships with plenty of room for the two chairs and small table. Plenty of storage space with two closets and numerous drawers and cubbyholes. Having the separate shower and commode areas was a little strange but did have the added advantage of being able to use either facility while the other person used the sink area in the cabin. We both loved the little reading lights above the beds. There was really nothing negative about the cabins.
We only took a cab into town and walked around a bit.
