We were intrigued by the ship itself and anxious to sail on something as unique as the Oasis. We were not disappointed. From embarkation to debarkation, everything was smoothly efficient. Crew members were highly trained, pleasant and anxious to assist with anything asked of them. The beauty of Central Park was overwhelming! It was like being in the real place, complete with the sounds of crickets and the twinkling lights and lush gardens one would expect to find outdoors in a planned park setting. We were pleased with every place we ate, except Chops Grille, where we found the service slow and uninterested in us as customers and the food sub-par. At the other end of the spectrum, we ate twice at Giovanni's Kitchen, where everyone, from host at the door to bus servers was smiling, happy to be there and anxious to give us a positive, memorable experience. Ballah, our waiter, was delightful, and paid special attention to each of his clients. We were struck throughout the cruise by how easily we could navigate aboard the ship. One would never suspect there were thousands of people aboard! We are not joiners nor attenders, so we can't speak to the activities or shows. We spent our days on the decks, relaxing in any way we chose. We spent our evenings in the casino, where we had some success and met some friendly people. The days flew by and we are sorry they are over. We are already planning our next RCL cruise and looking forward to an equally enjoyable vacation.
Like being in a deluxe hotel suite only better because of the ample storage space. We were surprised at the roominess and the comfort. Having only cruised smaller ships, we were unprepared for the bathtub, the sitting area and the large balcony. Our steward, Romeo, kept everything tidy, clean and neat and created adorable towel animals to greet us every evening. We felt very much at home.
