My neighbor/ travel agent along with 10 others took this cruise, January 28th to February 4th from Los Angeles down the Mexican coast. This is the second experience with Princess. The staterooms where acceptable, our steward, "Henry" was outstanding. Where things seemed to fall apart and continued throughout the cruise, was in the dining room. There was never a good service. The service staff seemed very confused and appeared helpless. Service to our table was never consistent or professional. Each meal the appetizers, salads, soup and main course was never served to us at the same time, some salads then some appetizers, then some soup when empty plates where removed and main courses served when some of out party where still eating soup. This happened each and every meal. We discussed this with the head waiter however this method of service was not corrected. We also had to pour our own wine and on a few occasions, total orders where never served to some of us. On one occasion, the head waiter was preparing a garlic pasta dish and was not supervising the section just preparing this dish for a few sections. The waiter and assistant also appeared confused at all times, constantly looking at the order list and not knowing where dishes should be served. On one occasion some of our table had breakfast in one of the restaurants. There where 4 tables, 19 guests for one waiter and one assistant. It took us 15 minutes to request coffee. We stopped a female in what appeared to be a management white uniform, she stated it was a busy morning. Then we watched as the waiter brought a tray of meals out and removed the covers. He took a long time referring to his order tablet then used spoons to transfer food from one plate to the other until he thought the orders were correct. We still had not been approached for our order. He returned to the first table with a plate of sausage and placed these on all of the plates at the other table. I ordered eggs benedict and when it finally arrived there where two small eggs on a very thin slice of ham, on a muffin and the sauce was crispy hard. On the final evening, our group of 11 planned a small champagne toast. We called and requested 11 glasses. We where advised it would be easier if two of us went to a lounge and brought the glasses back ourselves. The champagne tower was conducted at a time people where just finishing dinner so there was no time to experience this event. The internet on this cruise was available twice. I paid for over 200 minutes however noticed I was not charged. My previous cruise on Princess was more pleasant .
