We loved the ports of call (except Taipei -- they stop in some industrial port, as Celebrity always does) and we loved the people we met on board. We felt the service was outstanding, and all the ship's crew were very nice, courteous and helpful people. The ship is starting to age massively, however. Also, the food was just completely -- and we're talking COMPLETELY -- mediocre. It was like if you went to a Denny's and ordered a steak. Yes, it looks like a steak, and there's some kind of hard, undercooked vegetable on the plate with it, but it sure isn't what other Celebrity cruises have been like. The food was such a disappointment in the main dining room that if we hadn't had nice people to sit with, we would just have said "why bother" and gone to the buffet for every meal.
Another aspect of the trip that was completely mediocre was the music. There is usually a little jazz group here, a DJ there, and so forth . . . this ship had not much of ANYTHING. Sure, they had a totally average little band and singer in the lounge, with no enthusiasm for what they are doing or personality. A few dancers out there. But there was no competent musician to be found anywhere, or even a DJ.
The cabin was clean and nice, getting a bit old now, and the cabin steward was terrific. I would not take the Millennium anywhere from now on, until I hear reports that there is a new chef in town and that they have improved the quality of the music in bars and lounges.
Cabin still a bit on the small side, but larger than the lower-level rooms, which results only in a somewhat larger table with makeup mirror and a larger sofa.
Horrible place. Docked in some small industrial town with zero to do. You MUST take the tour if you go here.
Location of dock was way out in the boonies. City was interesting, lots to see.
Not much going on in this city. Hard to find sushi restaurants. We had no interest in war memorials, etc.
Fantastic time in this great city.
Loved the city of Hoi An
we loved the cave experience
What a fantastic place to visit.
