I saw this Fathom cruise to Cuba offered last summer. I said to my husband, if they offer it in the winter, I'm in. I don't like the heat. Luckily, we were able to sail February 5. The weather was wonderful, in the high 70's to mid 80's most of the time. One day it did reach 90.
Embarkation took a bit of time, standing in a line for 30 minutes or so. Not many check in people, or perhaps it's more complicated checking in for Cuba, more documentation than the normal cruise. Check in time started around noon.
We were on the ship around 1 and our cabin wasn't ready. We headed to the pool area and had lunch on the pool deck. The food at the pool area wasn't very good, but we weren't on this cruise for the food. Only after eating dry burgers, did we realize they had a great buffet through the doors! Don't stop at the pool area to eat, look for the real buffet, located inside, aft.
