We saw the very large veranda for room 14118 on youtube and had not been to Tortola so we thought it would be a good time to try Norwegian.
Cruising can be a really different animal depending on what you go on a cruise for. Do you want to relax or party? Do you like an eating schedule or do you want to eat when you want? Do you go to all the shows or do you like to read on your veranda? Do you have kids? For us the main reason for a cruise is to relax and in this case enjoy a really big veranda.
The Epic is really nothing special when it comes to cruise ships, it just carries a lot of people and it feels like it. In contrast we took a cruise on the Emerald Princess and it never felt like a crowded ship. Yes, the Epic carries a thousand more people, but the point is you will feel those extra thousand. The debarkation (walk off) was the worst I've ever seen. Not a crewman in site to help with the process. I mentioned it to one of the officers walking by how a little crowd control would really help the process and he seemed offended.
The toilet setup is a deal breaker. Otherwise I would say it is a nice setup. A lot of storage and a very large veranda.
Getting on the ship took a little time at noon, but was ok. Getting off the ship doing walkoff was a nightmare.
