Mariner of the Seas Cruise Review by Ethanol95
- Sail Date: December 2016
- Destination: Asia
Cabin was quite comfortable for 2. I had an interior cabin on deck 6, 6237. The location of the cabin was convenient, located near the FOR elevators. Cabin was also in a nice and quiet spot. No troubles sleeping at night. Cabins linen and curtains look outdated with the green colour and the beige cupboards compared to some of the newer ships
I think the food quality has improved since I last been on the ship in 2013, especially the food in the main dining room. The snacks and pizza at Cafe promenade tasted as how i remember them to taste. We also had a very polite and sociable assistant waiter from China, and she would get us anything we wanted. Even if we didn't specifically ask for a dish, she would give us an extra anyway.
We didn't catch any of the headline shows, but we did watch a couple of movies. Two were in 3D. I think the 3D movie's were really good. They were offering shows that were just recently out in cinemas like 'Trolls'.
The only thing I would improve about this cruise is the port choices. Like all RCI cruises in the SEA region, they normally go to all the same ports, hence it becomes boring after a while. That said, Phuket had lovely weather, and some good bargains for street shopping. I never get off at Port Klang
