This is the first time we were on this class of ships. It was a nice ship but I do not like the Centrum. I would much prefer a promenade. Where our cabin was located we used the elevators at the Centrum and whenever they had something going on in the Centrum, it was so loud you could not hear the elevator ding. I don't know how many elevators we missed because of that. Also, there just isn't enough room in the Centrum for everyone when they have really good entertainment there. All in all it's a nice ship and we enjoyed ourselves. Our cabin Steward Amos was wonderful. Our dining room servers Joseph and Shankar were amazing and that made it enjoyable going to the dining room, even if we weren't excited about the food choices on any particular night. Best embarkation and disembarkation ever!

The excursions we picked were good except a city tour in Dominica. I would not recommend it. The van wasn't the best. The driver did not have a microphone and even after asking him to please speak up, the ones in the back of the van still could not hear him. Plus, the tour ended 1/2 hour before it should have.

Our cabin 1574 (on the 10th deck) was fine. It was typical of a balcony cabin. The bed was positioned closer to the balcony. I prefer the bed closer to the door. Unfortunately when we booked this room I did not check to see what was above us and it was the Windjammer. Every night if I woke up anytime after 3:00 a.m. I would hear the staff getting ready for breakfast. At least that's what I think it was. Unless that's when it was being cleaned. Either way, it could get noisy. It only woke me up once. The other times I woke up to use that bathroom and then I'd hear it. I'll be anxious to see what they do when the ship goes in for refurbishment this year.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

The cabin was fine. Typical set up for the older ships. For those who have a preference, the bed is closer to the balcony. As I mentioned above, it's right below the Windjammer which got noisy after 3:00 a.m.

Port Reviews

Tortola

Loved this beach. So nice and relaxing.

St. Maarten

We didn't book an excursion here. We took the water taxi to one of the beaches close by and had a great day. We rented two lounge chairs and a beach umbrella for $15.
