This was my boyfriend and I first cruise. We had $1,000 gift card that we won and decided to use it to pay for a junior suite. That alone cost $1,400 in the end and thank god we got the suite. We both agreed we would have been very unhappy staying in anything smaller. I'll begin by saying that our expectations for this cruise started pretty low based on reviews. We didn't want to cruise for a long time for our first time ever and we also wanted to travel to a port that was close to home. I'll honestly say all the poor reviews we read, we did in fact either experience or observed for ourselves. A perk to having a suite is the priority boarding. We skipped like 100 people and got right to the ship. Really the only thing that was a perk with booking a suite. Food on this ship is SCARY. My boyfriend who is not a picky eater (and nice) says food was "okay". I stuck with ordering a couple small appetizers that I managed to get down. ALL wait staff is sooooo snobby. I swear each one of them scoffed at my level of gratuity. So after day one I de used to increase my amount of gratuity. I promise it makes no difference to them. Our room steward also did not make our suite stay any more special. She didn't know where brunch was being served, failed to get us a wine key, or bring us ice for two days back to back. The pool area is also a very ugly place. I never once got into that thing. It's super small and will always bee overwhelmed with people in it. All bartenders are slow to make and serve beverages that I dont even see how people with a drink package can even reach the amount of drinks to make it a value. Weird smells every turn you take on this ship too. Some rooms smell like straight garbage.

The reason why I found any enjoyment from this trip is this; I was with my boyfriend, and we can make our own fun anywhere. I liked this trip mostly cause I LOVED our all inclusive day at a place called Nachi Cocom. A very quiet beautiful beach where we were served beer, cocktails and food alllllllllll dayyyyyyyy! I left with a tan and a memorable day with my boyfriend. Kim Harrison is also a reason why we enjoyed our cruise. She is one of the late night comedians. Very funny women and def gave us great laughs. The 80's rock shows were much more entertaining for my boyfriend that for me. Also I liked that they have an "early flight" debark time. We got off that ship and in our car by 8:30am

Next time, there won't be a next time on this ship. If we ever cruise again it will be on a much more luxurious cruise ship. $1,400 was not worth it. Be honest with yourself if you think you will really need the drink package. We thankfully found that we didn't. That's an additional $400 that we saved. Also on our last day we removed our gratuities from our account. We left cash and believe me with that level of service, we were NOT sorry we did.

This room served it purpose. Was it worth $1,400? No, absolutely not. But there was no way I was staying in anything smaller.

Port Reviews

Tampa

Easy port to get to and not so crowded. Park at The Parking Doctors, they have much better prices.
