We have taken 5 cruise with Norwegian starting in 2013 on the Epic, and since it'll be several years before we cruise again, our friends and we decided to "end" our cruising where we started: on the Epic. The biggest disappointment was the lack of wait staff on deck and in the bar areas unless you were sitting directly at the bar. We had purchased the Ultimate Beverage Package, and I would say we had to get our own drinks 98% of the time - not my idea of being "pampered". In one of the specialty dining rooms, the waitress forgot our order and it took over an hour to get through dinner; in the Brazilian specialty restaurant, 1 server with the chorizo came to the table only once. In the Irish pub, the waitress was not friendly at all. Staff on the ship in 2013 was over 1,900; and on this cruise, it was 1,700 give or take so the difference was quite noticeable. The ship was 1.5 hours late getting into Port Canaveral; thus, getting off the ship via the "easy walk off" program was an absolute nightmare. No one from the staff was available to organize the chaos - it took us from 8:00am to 10:30am to get off the ship and get through Customs. On the plus side, all areas were very clean and room steward was excellent. Buffet in the Garden Cafe had a great variety of food although we found the deserts to be rather bland. Different themes every night was great. The outdoor buffet was the same thing almost every day - no variety unless you're hooked on hamburgers/hotdogs/tacos. Overall, we were very disappointed in the levels of service.

Mid-Ship Balcony

Great for 2 people; room steward was very friendly and kept it very neat, the smell of clean linens was wonderful. Had a balcony and we enjoyed the peace and quiet tremendously.
