Celebrity Constellation Cruise Review by graham beswick
- Sail Date: January 2017
- Destination: Middle East
- Cabin Type: Inside Stateroom 11
The ship was not 5 star ,and was badly in need of refurbishment. This coloured our first day of the trip. We had just left an excellent Hotel The Al Raha beach in Abu Dhabi and felt let down when we boarded the ship. We were not alone thinking about the ship in this way. Many more people on the ship felt the same way. We have been on many cruises with other companies who were supposed to be 4 Star, and were far better than this ship.(the constellation)
The excursions that we went on were poor and were not value for money. My wife Mrs Susan Beswick has already put a review in about those. The coaches were old and Rickety on the Goa beach trip, the food was less than adequate. The SRI LANKAN trip was a tour of concrete and poorly air conditioned /lighted museums. The Mosque visit was far below the standard of the one in Abu Dhabi that we visited(not part of your Itinerary.
What made the cruise a success for us , were the Staff on the ship(they were 5 star). The room attendant was exceptional. The dining room waiters and sommeliers were excellent. The Bar staff were very competent and good fun. The guest relations were excellent. The acts and entertainment in the theatre other than Elton Jack were of excellent Quality. All your staff had an excellent rapport with your customers.
The room we had was ok but the furnishing was old and tatty. The ceiling had dents in it. We just use the room for sleeping and bathing, but we still like it to be of a good Standard.
Last but not least, My name is Graham Beswick and I was the lead passenger with our friends the Doyles. It is my E mail that you use . I have sent a mail back explaining this, and you still put Gerrard Doyle on the mail
We would not travel with this company again unless some improvements with the above were made.
India was a country of extremes which we wanted to see . Singapore was a delight to stay there . The Swissotel was very good and good value.

Burj KhalifaThe Burj Khalifa must be visited. This was excellent. The walk around the mall where the Burj Khalifa entrance was was tiring and boring. Dhubi is a concrete city. You can look at buildings as much as you want. Not good .View All 20 Burj Khalifa Reviews
Backwaters of Alappuzha by HouseboatThis was the only value for money trip that we went on. The Guide was excellent, describing the area to us ,the houseboats that the locals lived on the men fishing, the women washing their cloths in the water . This was indeed another eye opener. The scenery was great to see with its lakes , rice fields and palm trees. Yet again there were differences in the poor buildings and the more expensive ones as we travelled. The hotel that we stopped at for lunch was excellent, clean good food and drink.View All 14 Backwaters of Alappuzha by Houseboat Reviews
Mumbai (Bombay)We met a prearranged person , who took us around to see the gate of India, then on to the Peshawari restaurant near the airport. This restaurant was excellent. very polite people met and served us in traditional cloths. The food was excellent , not like the over . spiced food in the uk. . On the way to this restaurant we saw some of the extremes of India. The poor living next to the roads in tin shacks . The multi story The buildings in disrepair, with washing hanging everywhere.View All 59 Mumbai (Bombay) Cruise Port Reviews
Then there was the more eloquent buildings around the airport, which depicts the affluence around this area.
It was eye opening.
