Chose cruise as a way to relax, be pampered and enjoy the sun in the Caribbean. Had been to most ports but but still enjoyed the sights. Found the cabins to be very small, terribly laid out, and very poorly lit. Customer service desk was staffed with very poorly trained people. Although we were provided a very friendly room steward whom did an excellent job for us the majority of the ship staff had trouble finding smiles and friendly attitudes. Finally, on the 3rd day, week 1 of our back to back we found a waiter with years of service experience that more than met expectations.

Tendering in to the Grand Caymens was a complete disorganized disaster and resulted in some missing their shore excursions but nowhere near the debarkation fiasco. What a nightmare. Hint: if you decide to cruise this ship, you have my sympathies but once you claim your luggage grab a porter. He will get you in the express lane out and save you an hour of frustration. If you do a back to back, skip the orientation meeting at the end of week 1...it's a complete waste of time as the facilitator didn't have a clue. By the way entertainment for week 2 on a BTB is a rerun of week 1. Also get ready to pay an $8 fee for room service plus 18% gratuity.

Complimentary dining menu now has items that you can choose for an additional fee. Also, keep track of your beach towels...you lose them NCL will add $25 to your bill. If you use the ones provided on deck you have to make a $25 each deposit. Who thinks of this brilliant customer amenities??? Kind of reminds me of the amusement parks that you pay an expensive daily entrance fee to enter only to find out that you've just paid a fee for the right to pay more if you want to ride or see a show.

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin IX

Too small, vert poorly lit. Shower and bathroom privacy nonexistent. Both had only glass partitions lightly frosted which afforded little or no privacy. If you're clastifobic this won't work for you.
