we chose this cruise because of an interesting itinerary and it was a longer cruise. The food was excellent, the staff was responsive to our needs and the entertainment was very good. the one drawback was that for such a large ship, the public areas were quite small and were not that conducive to the larger size of some of the events. The specialty restaurants were all excellent both in the food quality and the service of the staff. Cagney's Steak house was a real standout with a melt in your mouth filet mignon that was hard to beat. Shanghai Noodle Bar was a fun experience but missed the mark I think because of the electric woks that they need to use on board ships just can't cook like a gas wok.
The bar staff was very friendly and quick with the service. Fat Cat's Blues Bar had Charley Love & The Silky Smooth Band. By far they provided some of the best entertainment on the high seas. The worst part of the cruise was disembarking at the end of it. It seemed to be very disorganized and when you do get off the ship you cue up outside the building for approx. 30 to 40 minutes. When you finally get inside the process was much faster. NCL is not alone in this. It just comes with the territory Overall, if you are looking for a good cruise out of NYC the look into the Norwegian Breakaway.
Good overall but felt a bit smaller or narrower than similar cabins on other ships.
good brief look at the island
Quick tour of part of the island and a 3 hour beach break with onsite bar and restaurant
