This cruise was primarily for a family member with limited mobility. She enjoyed it very much, but, as seasoned travelers, we found a number of things lacking. The food was average. The food in the Windjammer was pretty much the same each day and you had to dodge people to get around the buffet areas. Parts of the ship looked and felt very old. "Padded" chairs in the Spotlight Lounge and the spa were basically flat with the padding completely worn out.
The staff overall were helpful, friendly and attentive.
One of the biggest complaints is the lack of planning for disembarkation for those with mobility issues. At CocoCay the line to get off the ship and on to the tender snaked up four flights of stairs. There was no where - except on the stairs - for someone to rest or sit if they were unable to stand for periods of time. The process for going through immigration in Key West was ridiculous!! You had to gather by group in the front of the ship, then walk the length of the ship to the back to have the immigration people look at your documents, then walk back to the front of the ship to disembark. There were plenty of people with canes, walkers and those who just had difficulty walking who had to do this. Why were other arrangements not made for these people??
The cabin was adequate, though a little dated. The air conditioning was old and so was either really cold or too warm. The pillows were flat and needed to be replaced. Having the balcony was nice.
