This was our first cruise. We had the chance to be with our son & daughter plus their families & a heap of friends so we grabbed the chance. The boarding process was easy & except for some minor confusion as to where to go for the muster everything else was great. At this point I would like to point out the staff in the Empire dining room. There was 10 in our immediate family group & so we usually had the same staff for most of our meals. All I can say is that if we got the same service & attention to detail at any restaurant we visit they would have a customer for life. Even with over 2,000 passengers on board they always knew our names & this made us feel special. We even had a magician come to our table at one dinner & performed the most amazing 2 slight of hand tricks that we have ever seen. All other food outlets were also great but please increase the temperature of the coffee machines as it was best described as warm only.

Well done Carnival Spirit, we will gladly sail with you anytime. The only negative point I have is try to avoid arriving in Noumea on a Saturday as most businesses were closed.

Cabin Review

Cabin deck 5 interior

Being our first cruise we were not sure of the exact differences between the various cabin types & we choose a interior cabin. Our son's family had a balcony & this type is what we will choose on any future cruise. This is not to say that our cabin was unacceptable, just that a cabin with a balcony is better.

I must mention our stateroom steward Cecep. Absolutely nothing was too difficult for this man. I am not suggesting that there was anything wrong with the rest of the ship's staff who were all very friendly & professional but this man really stood out.
