Took this short cruise just to get away for a few days. Port Canaveral is a nice port and embarkation is usually fast. This time we arrived about 11 AM since that was the first shuttle our hotel had, so they were already doing embarkation, as soon as we arrived we moved into the ship, is nice to have VIP to do that.
As soon as we were in we headed to the restaurant to check on the sitting arrangement but there was no Maitre'D to be found, it wasn't until the second night we saw him. It is true what they say about the Liberty, you do feel the vibration on most parts of the buffet area, we had to move several times to avoid it. As usual we keep finding things Carnival keep eliminating on their cruises, we found there were no robes on the cabin and had to request them, the few "extras" the bathrooms used to have (basket of items} are gone and now you get two bars of soap. No more chocolates on the bed at night, if the pizzas got any thinner they would disappear. The only reason the Guy hamburgers are great is just because they ARE Guy Hamburgers and not Carnival's.
On this trip the shows were Vega's quality and not using guests as performers as in many other ships, ONE of the comedians was great, Rob Little was one of the funnies guys we have ever heard, the other one was the opposite.
Chose the ocean view cabin because got a good price and it is the biggest size cabin
in Carnival ships except the suits and up, prefer to have more room instead of a balcony.
Is good to have mini-fridges to keep any cold drinks you might bring in. No extras in the
bathroom except for 2 bars of soap. No more robes in the cabin, you have to request them.
Nothing much to see unless you sign in for a tour.
Nothing but a Carnival selling camp when you debark, you have to take a tour if you want to see anything else.
Excellent port for getting in and out pretty quick.
