We just returned from a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas on Enchantment. This was my 4th Royal Caribbean Cruise, it was my second cruise on this ship and it didn't disappoint. I know there are a lot of bad reviews out there on this ship - but don't be afraid to book your cruise on Enchantment. It is a great little ship, easy to learn your way around and just as fun as my other cruises.
Embarrkation was quick and painless. We flew in to Fort Lauderdale and took a taxi to the Port of Miami. The cab ride was expensive - $90 for 2 of us - so you may want to look into alternate transportation. We were on the ship by about 12:30 and were able to get to our cabin by about 1:30. We carried our luggage onboard so we didn't have to wait for our luggage as we have in the past. My husband and I traveled alone this trip and packed very light. So without having dress clothes, I can't write about the dining room on this trip. In the past our service in the My Fair Lady dining room was excellent.
This time we ate in the Windjammer each night and the food was excellent and it was never crowded for dinner. Breakfast and lunch were a different story....as it got very crowded at times. There is plenty of food to be found that is for sure.
We loved this cabins location. It was close to the elevator which we were worried about at first. In the end, we loved the location. It was quiet, and we never had to make that long trek down the hall to our room. We could get to the Windjammer quickly via the stairs or elevator, same for the casino and the smoking area on Deck 5. We enjoyed our balcony and slept well each night. Many people complain about hard mattresses, etc. But for us it was perfect. Our cabin attendant Iko was amazing and went above and beyond getting us an extension cord and distilled water for my husband's Cpap machine. Maybe he was sucking up for tips - but who cares. He was very pleasant and new us by name on the first day. Don't be afraid to book this room by the elevator. We really enjoyed it.
This wasn't my first visit here. I am not a big fan of Nassau. But if you take an excursion or head to the beach it can be fun.
