I chose this cruise because of the destinations and the dates of travel. It fell on my birthday, and my last cruise was 7 years ago, and I wanted to do something for myself, so I chose a cruise. I did not research the ship, but because my previous cruise (on the Carnival Liberty) was so amazing, I didn't hesitate to book Carnival again.
Embarkation was smooth, going through the safety training, and then down to my cabin was no problem. We chose to purchase the drink package, and even though it seems a little expensive, if you like to drink, you will max out by the end of the day. There is a 15 drink maximum, and it's not hard to hit that maximum if you want to start drinking during the day. I did not max out each day, but came close.
The room was really nice. Because it was set up with two twin beds, it appeared to have a bit more space than what I remembered on the previous sailing (we had a queen bed). The bathroom was also a bit more spacious than I recalled on the Liberty, and was super clean. Overall, I was impressed with the room, and even though it was interior, it had a faux window with black out curtains...clearly to help psychologically. Our housekeeper was super nice, and our room was always nice and clean whenever we would return to it each evening.
No excursion in Miami. I am from the area.
No excursion taken - Grand Cayman has some fun stuff to do, but I have been there once and really wasn't looking to do anything again. Walked around the shops and went back on ship.
